Gold eyes week after week gain on Middle East strains; palladium hits record:
Gold rose on Friday, heading for its first week by week ascend in four, helped by a more fragile dollar and raising strains in the Middle East, while palladium took off to another unequaled top in the midst of short supply.
Spot gold XAU= was up 0.3% at $1,503.28 per ounce, starting at 1005 GMT, up about 1% so far this week.
