Indian indices opened marginally lower on May 25 on the back of weak global cues.

The Sensex was down 33.58 points or 0.05 percent at 61,740.20, and the Nifty was down 11.80 points or 0.06 percent at 18,273.60. About 1,233 shares advanced, 779 shares declined, and 94 shares were unchanged.
सेंसेक्स 33.58 अंक या 0.05 प्रतिशत की गिरावट के साथ 61,740.20 पर और निफ्टी 11.80 अंक या 0.06 प्रतिशत की गिरावट के साथ 18,273.60 पर बंद हुआ था। लगभग 1,233 शेयरों में तेजी आई, 779 शेयरों में गिरावट आई और 94 शेयरों में कोई बदलाव नहीं हुआ।
Britannia, Power Grid Corp, Bajaj Auto, ITC and Kotak Mahindra Bank were among the major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Hindalco, JSW Steel, Tata Motors, ONGC and HCL Technologies.
