Indian indices opened lower on September 18 with Nifty below 20,150.
The Sensex was down 266.36 points or 0.39 percent at 67,572.27, and the Nifty was down 67.40 points or 0.33 percent at 20,124.90. About 1405 shares advanced, 793 shares declined, and 141 shares unchanged.
Tata Steel, Eicher Motors, HDFC Life, Power Grid Corp and M&M were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Hindalco Indusries, Bharti Airtel, Infosys, HCL Technologies and Tech Mahindra.
