Indian indices opened higher on September 12 with Nifty above 20,000.
The Sensex was up 301.82 points or 0.45 percent at 67,428.90, and the Nifty was up 83.20 points or 0.42 percent at 20,079.50. About 1534 shares advanced, 472 shares declined, and 104 shares unchanged.
L&T, ICICI Bank, Hindalco Industries, Tata Steel and UltraTech Cement were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were HUL, Adani Ports, Nestle India, Britannia Industries and IndusInd Bank.
