Commodity outlook: Crude oil falls; here’s how

others may fare today

Energy and base metal counters slipped into the red on Tuesday on domestic bourses amid the

rampaging coronavirus which shows no signs of peaking.

The death toll from the virus in mainland China rose by 98, even as its spread slowed with the number of

new cases falling below 2,000 as of Monday. However, global experts warned it was too early to say the

outbreak is being contained.

Crude oil was down 1.34 per cent to Rs 3,686 while natural gas dipped 0.79 per cent to Rs 138. Nickel,

copper and zinc fell 0.3-0.9 per cent.
