Crude oil prices experienced a decline of -1.65%, settling at 6211, driven by major shipping firms’ resumption of operations in the Red Sea despite ongoing attacks and geopolitical uncertainties in the Middle East. Denmark’s Maersk and France’s CMA CGM announced a return to the Red Sea following the establishment of a US-led maritime task force mandated to protect commercial vessels in the region. This development alleviated concerns about disruptions to oil flows.
