Indian indices opened weak on September 20 with Nifty below 20,000.
The Sensex was down 510.11 points or 0.75 percent at 67,086.73, and the Nifty was down 143.00 points or 0.71 percent at 19,990.30. About 845 shares advanced, 1170 shares declined, and 172 shares unchanged.
HDFC Bank, Apollo Hospitals, BPCL, Hindalco Industries and Britannia Industries were among major losers on the Nifty, while gainers were ICICI Bank, Cipla, L&T, Adani Enterprises and SBI Life Insurance.
