Indian indices opened higher on August 30 with Nifty above 19,400.
The Sensex was up 296.51 points or 0.46 percent at 65,372.33, and the Nifty was up 85.40 points or 0.44 percent at 19,428.10. About 1566 shares advanced, 390 shares declined, and 99 shares unchanged.
Hindalco Industries, Tech Mahindra, HCL Technologies, UPL and Cipla were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were BPCL, Power Grid Corp, Apollo Hospitals, HUL and Asian Paints.
