Indian indices opened on a positive note on August 23 with Nifty above 19,400.
The Sensex was up 14.85 points or 0.02 percent at 65,234.88, and the Nifty was up 16.90 points or 0.09 percent at 19,413.40. About 1553 shares advanced, 435 shares declined, and 104 shares unchanged.
Cipla, Hindalco, LTIMindtree, Nestle and HCL Tech were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Sun Pharmay, IndusInd Bank, M&M, Bharti Airtel and Titan Company.
