Market Opens
Indian indices opened on a positive note on August 8 with Nifty around 19,600.
The Sensex was up 56.51 points or 0.09 percent at 66,009.99, and the Nifty was up 21.20 points or 0.11 percent at 19,618.50. About 1415 shares advanced, 559 shares declined, and 125 shares unchanged.
Hero MotoCorp, Dr Reddy’s Labs, NTPC, Cipla and HDFC Life were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Power Grid Corp, Eicher Motors, SBI Life Insurance, Adani Ports and Tata Steel.
