Oil Prices Rise Amid Tensions in Middle East

Oil costs expanded gains on Thursday in Asia in the midst of strains in the Middle East connected to stealth assaults on Saudi oil tankers and pipelines.

U.S. Crude Oil WTI Futures rose 0.7% to $62.45 by 12:20 AM ET (04:20 GMT). Worldwide Brent Oil Futures increased 0.6% to $72.22.

Escalating pressures in the Middle East were refered to as pushing oil costs higher.

“(Center East pressures have heightened), with the U.S. prepared to apply weight in Tehran and emptying its international safe haven in Iraq because of security concerns,” said Alfonso Esparza, senior market expert at OANDA, at a Reuters report.
